Homework for the summer - Part 2

...

- Receiving to turn.We highlighted in previous posts that any soccer player, but mainly the center mids, have to master the different ways of receiving to turn: with inside across your body (inside cut), open up (half turn),  outside hook, behind your standing foot, 360ยบ or La Pepolina (Xavi turn), dragging with the sole, etc.

There are plenty of examples in YouTube, but I like this simple drill because the players in this video show a wide range of different options,

Why is it extremely important to master these techniques? Look girls, the ball should flow from inside (of the space) to outside and outside to inside. In other words, we have to transfer the ball from one part of the field to another. Midfielders play an important role in this part. It requires a good vision to scan the field and find the gaps for the next pass, and by the same token a flawless receiving technique.

-  Headers A mix of good technique and determination.

Very good progression, and better coaching tips. Thanks Amy!

- Dribbling at speed. Really important for outside defenders and mids.

- Shooting. ( Bents with inside and outside, chip, instep drive,...). Both, from static and on motion or after driblling + turn, etc.

Enjoy it girls! And most important, I will be waiting for your videos proving that you are working on this skills.

Coach Pablo.
